Richard Der has been an associate with Andrew, March & Oake since July 1998, practicing in the areas of Family, Real Estate, Commercial and Civil Litigation. Prior to joining Andrew, March & Oake, Richard practiced at his own firm of Goldford Der Law Offices, where he practiced primarily in the area of Corporate and Commercial Law.
"I chose to come to Andrew, March & Oake because of Steve Andrew. I was beginning to practice more Family Law during my later days at Goldford Der and met Steve through the Canadian Bar Association. Steve's reputation in family law was excellent, and I knew that it would be of great benefit to work with him. Furthermore, Andrew, March & Oake had a good reputation in the legal community, and I knew this firm was a solid fit that would allow me the opportunity to further develop my practice."
In 1988, Richard obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree with Distinction, majoring in Finance and Accounting from the University of Alberta. In 1992, he obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of British Columbia and was shortly thereafter admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1993.
Richard is an active member in the Canadian Bar Association and has participated in various events such as Law Day and the Canadian Bar Association's Annual Conference. In addition to practicing law, he enjoys playing hockey and tennis. He has been a member of the Edmonton Devils Hockey Club since 1992 and is currently a member of the University of Alberta Tennis Centre.
