Steve Andrew founded the firm in 1980 with fellow graduate John Donahoe. He currently practices exclusively in the area of family law and real estate. Before founding Andrew, March & Oake, Steve articled and then practiced as an associate at the firm of Lieber & Koch.
In 1973, Steve obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alberta, with a major in Political Science and a minor in Sociology. In 1976, he obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree and was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1977.
For a number of years, Steve was an Ad Hoc Prosecutor for the Attorney General of Alberta, appearing as agent for the Crown mostly in rural areas around Edmonton and appearing occasionally in the City of Edmonton. In 1982, Steve set up a general practice in the Town of Barrhead, where he continues to travel to once a week.
Steve has instructed and presented numerous courses and seminars over the years through the Legal Education Society of Alberta, Bar Admission Courses, and the Edmonton Public School Board Continuing Education. He has held every Executive position with the Canadian Bar Association Family Law Section, both in Edmonton and nationally. He has published a number of articles and papers through the Canadian Bar Association and the Legal Education Society.
In his spare time, Steve contributes his time to various fundraising activities in and around Edmonton through music and entertainment. He is also a past member of the Support Committee of the Institute for Stuttering Research.
